Dr. Mark Marian Sontowski

We are very blessed to have Mark Sontowski as our Senior pastor. He was born in Poland, previously East Prussia, Germany, and grew up in the United Methodist Church family. However, he and his family traditionally practiced the Reformation tradition. He studied and respected the Reformation theology and doctrines. He has preached and taught at the United Methodist Church, Eastern Orthodox Church, Roman Catholic Church, the Evangelical Lutheran Church, and the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in England, Sweden, Germany, Switzerland, Spain, Italy, and the United States.

We are blessed to have Awe step in as our Administrative Assistant.  She is warm, helpful, efficient, and keeps the trains running!

Music Director - Kevin Baxter

Kevin has been the Pianist for our Stone Oak Church for over fifteen years.  He has a B.S. in Piano Performance from Huntingdon College, a M.A. degree from the University of Montevallo, and a M.A. in Music from Texas State University.  He also has served in the 5th United States Army Band at Ft. Sam Houston and a retired Music Teacher for the Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City ISD.

 

SESSION & ELDERS

Stone Oak Church is governed by the Session, which consists of seven members of the congregation known as Elders. 

  • The Elders are elected by the congregational membership for a term of three years. 

  • The Session Moderator, who is a non-voting member of the clergy, chairs the session meetings.  The meetings are open to all  church members and are held at 7:00 p.m. the second Tuesday of each month at the church. 

  • The Clerk of Session, who is also non-voting, records the minutes of the meetings.  The minutes are posted on the website for view by all church members.
